Kate Pforr is currently writing her first novel, “Becoming the Cat Lady." It is a women's fiction mother/daughter novel with a little mystery, small town drama, and cats.

Kate holds degrees in Journalism and Electron Microscopy and has spent over 15 years in the veterinary medicine field, working her way up from kennel cleaner to practice manager. She finds the beauty and ugliness of everyday life in her writing, using her amazing and heartbreaking experiences to create a fictional world.

Kate is a member of the Women's Fiction Writers Association and the Wisconsin Writers Association. She is a Scholarship Recipient for the Wisconsin Writers Association 2023 Conference. She lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her children, husband, cat, and dog.
